Nebraska Public Media’s Kelly Rush Honored with Lincoln Arts Award

LINCOLN, Neb. (Aug. 28, 2025) – Nebraska Public Media Digital Content Producer Kelly Rush was honored with the ArtScene Backstage Award, a Lincoln Arts Award, on Aug. 27 at the Country Club of Lincoln.

Rush began her 41-year career in television production as a studio camera operator and rose to senior promotion producer before working in the digital area. She specializes in visual storytelling for the network – producing, writing, shooting and editing compelling digital and broadcast content. Her work spotlights Nebraska’s artists, capturing their passion, process and purpose.

Rush crafts each story as a piece of visual art, shaped by the narrative, attention to detail and the collaborative efforts of a talented team. Together, they bring creative visions to life, capturing not just what artists create, but why they create it.

Through her work, Rush has helped foster a deeper appreciation for the arts across Nebraska and beyond. And just like the artists she profiles, she an artist in her own right.

The Mayor’s Arts Awards were renamed in 2025 to the Lincoln Arts Awards. This year’s theme is “Rising,” which represents both the rebirth that the arts allow and promise, and the return of the Arts Council to provide enriching arts programming across Lincoln.
