Nebraska Public Media Selected as Report for America Newsroom

LINCOLN, Neb. (Dec. 14, 2021) – Nebraska Public Media was among 70 newsrooms nationwide selected as a Report for America newsroom.

The newly-selected newsrooms, along with those renewing their partnership, will expand Report for America’s corps size to 325 including nearly 270 newsrooms across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands, in 2022.

A primary consideration in the selection process was which newsrooms defined the most compelling gaps in coverage and their plans to deploy corps members.

Nebraska Public Media’s news beat will include portraits of Nebraskans, especially those living in rural areas and residents of color.

Report for America is a national service program that places talented emerging journalists in local newsrooms to report on under-covered topics and communities.
