Nebraska Public Media Honored with 2025 Nebraska Literary Heritage Award
LINCOLN, Neb. (Oct. 10, 2025) – The Nebraska Literary Heritage Association presented Nebraska Public Media with the 2025 Nebraska Literary Heritage Award on Thursday, Oct. 9 during the association’s annual Spelling Bee at Screamers Family Restaurant in Lincoln.
Nebraska Public Media General Manager/CEO Stacey Decker accepted the award on behalf of the network. “Nebraska Public Media is proud to serve as a steward of Nebraska’s literary heritage. By showcasing the voices of both historic and contemporary writers, we aim to create deep appreciation for the stories that shape our communities, reflect our values and celebrate the rich storytelling legacy that defines our state,” said Decker.
The Nebraska Literary Heritage Award is awarded annually to individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to preserving, promoting and celebrating Nebraska’s literary history.
The Nebraska Literary Heritage Association noted that Nebraska Public Media's commitment to education, cultural enrichment and storytelling excellence exemplifies the spirit of the honor.
