Nebraska Public Media Earns Three Heartland Emmy® Awards
LINCOLN, Neb. (July 22, 2026) – Nebraska Public Media received three Heartland Emmy® awards from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Heartland Chapter.
“JAM: The Talbott Brothers” was recognized in the entertainment – short form/long form content category. Originally from Imperial, brothers Nick and Ty Talbott have earned national recognition for their Americana and folk-rock sound, blending sibling harmonies, heartfelt lyrics and blue-collar authenticity. Michele Wolford, producer/writer, Tyler Kersting, videographer/editor, Werner Althaus, sound mix/sweetening, David Barry, post-production finishing and Scott Raasch, studio director were honored with this award.
“What If… Nebraska” received an award in the magazine program – single program or series category. The series explores innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship across the state. Mike Tobias, producer/host/writer; Justin Cheney, co-producer/videographer/editor; Emily Kreutz, audio engineer; Lisa Chavanothai Craig, graphic artist; and Mac Nelson, finishing editor were honored.
“Candy Scientist,” a story from “What If…Nebraska,” was recognized in the business/consumer – short form/long form content category. It features Nebraska native Tessa Porter and her Omaha-based candy development lab, Sprinkk. Tobias, Cheney and Kreutz were honored for their work.
The 40th Annual National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Heartland Chapter Awards presentation was July 18.
