Nebraska Public Media Continues to Expand FM Radio Coverage
LINCOLN, Neb. (Jan. 31, 2025) – Nebraska Public Media is further expanding its FM radio coverage with the addition of a new transmitter near Broken Bow, introducing KGNE at 89.3 FM.
Listeners in the Broken Bow, Sargent, Ansley and Callaway areas, will now find it much easier to tune into Nebraska Public Media.
“We are excited that we have a new station in Custer County that continues to grow our signal and service,” said Stacey Decker, Nebraska Public Media general manager/CEO. “KGNE is a full power transmitter so when you are in this area, you’ll now be able to listen to the trusted NPR and local programs that define our service.”
Expanded service will not only give more listeners access to news and music, but provide more access to public safety information, including alerts from the Nebraska State Patrol, Nebraska Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service during times of severe weather.
Nebraska Public Media continues to make upgrades to KUNE 88.7 FM in Columbus and KNNE 90.7 in McCook. McCook is anticipated to be upgraded in February and Columbus in March. A new station near Falls City, KQNE 89.9 FM, was added in May 2024.
