Nebraska Public Media Announces Weekday Afternoon Schedule Change

LINCOLN, Neb. (Dec. 19, 2022) – Research shows more and more families find PBS KIDS programs anytime, anywhere in digital spaces – watching on smart devices and the internet, as well as traditional television.

PBS KIDS programs prepare kids for school and lead them to a bright future, but as more Nebraskans watch on their own schedule, Nebraska Public Media is changing its schedule.

Beginning Monday, Jan. 2, Nebraska Public Media’s block of PBS KIDS programs block will end at 3 p.m. CT, and a few children’s programs will also be broadcast at new times, including (all times Central):

– “Nature Cat” moves from 3 p.m. to 5 a.m. replacing “Arthur.” “Arthur” remains at 6:30 a.m.

– “Let’s Go Luna” moves from 3 p.m. to 2 p.m., replacing “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.” “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” remains at 9:30 a.m.

– “Odd Squad” moves from 5 p.m. to 3 p.m. replacing “Let’s Go Luna.”

At 3 p.m., viewers can watch how-to and general audience programming, including cooking, travel and lifestyle programming. Between 4 and 6 p.m., viewers can watch local and PBS documentaries, drama and arts programming.

Weekday TV Schedule Change

Many viewers may already be watching children’s programming free, over-the-air on the dedicated PBS KIDS 24/7 channel and on the Nebraska Public Media app and website. PBS KIDS programming is also available on the free PBS KIDS app and at pbskids.org/video.

In digital spaces, viewers can watch favorites, like “Clifford,” “Martha Speaks” and “Word Girl” and new programs like “Alma’s Way,” “Rosie’s Rules” and more.

Education is a guiding pillar of public media. Each week, Nebraska Public Media broadcasts 225 hours of high-quality PBS KIDS children’s programming.
