Bill Kelly Receives Great Plains Broadcaster of the Year

LINCOLN, Neb. (May 24, 2022) – Nebraska Public Media’s Bill Kelly was named the 2022 Great Plains Broadcaster of the Year by the Tulsa Press Club earlier this month. The club invites journalists from across the region to enter their best work from the past calendar year.

Kelly’s journalism career in Nebraska includes many documentaries and countless news stories that have brought insight into the workings of government, courts and politics to the citizens of Nebraska.

Most recently, Kelly produced documentaries on rural law enforcement, Nebraska floods and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Great Plains Journalism Awards is a regional contest honoring print, web, TV and magazine journalists for outstanding stories, photography and design. The eight-state competition includes Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota. The annual awards are presented by the Tulsa Press Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
