Nebraska Public Media Weekend Radio Schedule Changes June 20

Listeners can explore new voices, music and storytelling alongside returning weekend favorites beginning June 20.

New Weekend Radio Line-Up Begins June 20

We’re refreshing our weekend radio lineup with new programs, new voices and new stories! Beginning June 20, you’ll discover a mix of beloved favorites and innovative additions, giving you a chance to discover something new or reconnect with shows you already enjoy.

“We know listeners build their weekends around these shows,” said Nebraska Public Media Radio Network Director Cathy Bradberry. “We wanted to keep the favorites our listeners count on while making room for some fresh voices and new sounds.”

On Saturdays, the lineup features Reveal, followed by staples like Weekend Edition Saturday and Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me! which moves to a new time slot at 9 a.m. CT. New additions such as The Sam Sanders Show and Tiny Desk Radio bring a fresh blend of culture, conversation and music. Midday programming includes It’s Been a Minute and Wild Card with Rachel Martin, alongside returning favorites Radiolab and This American Life.

Sundays balance consistency and discovery with Weekend Edition Sunday, The Moth Radio Hour and This Old House Radio Hour, joined by Fresh Air Weekend and Sports in America with David Greene. Tiny Desk Radio also airs Sunday mornings.

Bradberry added that local programming is also part of the update. Weekend host Phoenixx Carrol will debut Flow Lab, a new show highlighting hip-hop, R&B, soul and dance music.

Whether your weekend starts with news, music or a little unexpected discovery, this new lineup gives you more reasons to listen.
