Managing Editor and host Jackie Ourada says the format makes trusted news easy for everyone to access. “It’s flexible. Our listeners can sit back, relax and listen on their own time,” she said. “The stories are quick and concise.”
Ourada partners with Executive Producer Andy Hermann to shape the sound for each episode and set the podcast’s pace. “We spend a lot of time considering the needs of our listeners and want to make the experience seamless,” said Ourada.
For Derek Kay, a Lincoln community member active in the Young Professionals Group, the podcast has become essential to his day. “The Nebraska Update has quickly become part of my morning routine. It’s the perfect length, packed with useful local updates, and an easy way to start the day more informed,” said Kay.
