How Nebraska Public Media Helps Organizations Tell Their Stories
July 2026
Through collaborative partnerships, Nebraska Public Media helps organizations share important work and reach audiences and communities through video storytelling.
State agencies, universities and public institutions are developing programs, leading initiatives and serving communities in ways that matter, but sharing that work effectively requires more than reports or presentations.
Reaching the right audience can be as challenging as the message itself, making it essential that information is clear, accessible and meaningful – something Nebraska Public Media’s storytelling delivers every day.
At Nebraska Public Media, valuable partnerships begin with a conversation about audience, purpose and how a story can best be told. Mario Scalora, director of the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center, explained that the network’s skilled team of media specialists transformed how the center shares its work.
“Their work brings data and stories to life in ways that are far more engaging and impactful than traditional reports filled with facts and figures, while keeping a clear focus on the issues that matter most to Nebraskans,” Scalora says.
Nebraska Public Media recently expanded its storytelling possibilities with the completion of a $5.4 million studio renovation. Our updated space reflects how audiences engage with content today, supporting projects designed for broadcast, digital platforms and everything in between – but the approach remains much the same.
Projects become partnerships that start by asking what’s needed. In some cases, that means translating complex or technical information into video that’s easy to understand. In others, it’s capturing a moment – a conference, a public meeting or a milestone event – and making it accessible to a broader audience.
In some cases, organizations come in with an idea already in progress. Other times, we start the process from scratch. Either way, the goal is the same: to create something that connects.
As more organizations look for ways to reach people where they are, this kind of collaboration continues to evolve. For Nebraska Public Media, it’s an extension of a broader mission – using media to inform, engage and serve communities across the state.
