A New Signal for Omaha: 101.9 FM, Nebraska Public Media Omaha

July 2026

Omaha This is Your Signal

The new radio service connects Omaha with trusted statewide news, local voices and eclectic music programming.

When Nebraska Public Media Omaha launched June 15 on 101.9 FM, we realized what had been a decades-long effort to expand our statewide public radio service to Omaha.

“Nebraska Public Media is committed to every Nebraskan,” said General Manager and CEO Stacey Decker. “This station strengthens the connection between Omaha and the rest of Nebraska— bringing statewide news and conversations to Omaha listeners while helping Omaha’s stories reach more Nebraskans.”

Our diverse lineup brings people in the metro closer to the voices, places and conversations shaping Nebraska. Weekdays start with Morning Edition with local hosting from veteran broadcaster Dale Johnson. Afternoons feature All Things Considered with Omaha native Grant Winterer, alongside reporting from Omaha journalists and Nebraska Public Media’s statewide news team. Evenings shift to an eclectic Adult Album Alternative format—rock, blues, folk, alternative country—reflecting Omaha’s independent music culture.

“We expect the programming to grow and evolve as we deepen our roots there,” said Chief Content Officer Nancy Finken.

Listeners can tune in at 101.9 FM across the Omaha and Lincoln areas. Outside the signal range, Nebraska Public Media is available online and through the Nebraska Public Media app.
