A New Signal, A Larger Audience: Underwriting Opportunities Grow in Omaha
Statewide Connections
With the addition of 101.9 FM in Omaha, underwriters can now reach listeners across Nebraska through a single statewide partnership.
The launch of Nebraska Public Media Omaha on 101.9 FM has created new opportunities not only for listeners, but also for the businesses and organizations that support Nebraska Public Media’s mission through underwriting.
With a new signal designed specifically for the Omaha metropolitan area, underwriters now reach the 1 million people who live in the Omaha metropolitan area, one of Nebraska’s largest and most diverse.
“The addition of Nebraska Public Media Omaha to our radio network gives our underwriters the opportunity to connect with audiences in Nebraska’s largest media market, while still benefiting from the statewide reach and trusted reputation that makes us unique,” said Director of Corporate Support Tracy Roe.
For underwriters, one of the greatest advantages of partnering with Nebraska Public Media is simplicity and statewide reach. With the expansion into Omaha, now a single underwriting buy can connect with listeners across the state, from Chadron, Scottsbluff and Valentine to Omaha, La Vista and Bellevue.
As our audience grows, so do opportunities for our underwriters to reach listeners in meaningful ways. The Omaha expansion introduces new programming designed to engage a wide variety of listeners. During the day, audiences will hear NPR news and conversation programming, alongside local news, weather and reporting tied to the city’s neighborhoods, businesses and community life.
In the evenings, the station will feature an Adult Album Alternative format featuring an eclectic blend of rock, blues, folk, world and alternative country music from contemporary and heritage artists.
Weekend shows will include programs like Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me! as well as locally hosted music shows such as Flow Lab and The Verge. This wide range of content and listening experiences provides new, engaged audiences for underwriters looking to reach the Omaha metropolitan area.
The launch of Nebraska Public Media Omaha continues Nebraska Public Media’s mission under the Nebraska Educational Telecommunications Act to operate statewide educational and public media networks serving all Nebraskans.
As Nebraska Public Media Omaha continues to build connections in Omaha, underwriters will play an important role in supporting the trusted journalism, cultural programming and statewide storytelling that bring Nebraskans together across communities and generations.
