This position will be managing the Nebraska Public Media Help Desk staff and will be the liaison between ITS System/Network Admin and Director of ITS. On Air Host/Multimedia Reporter/Producer

Join our talented radio team as an On-Air Host. This position, under general supervision, researches, writes and produces feature stories and programs for Nebraska Public Media; produces and announces an on-air shift for radio; performs related work as assigned. Utilizes professional judgment to determine overall content and effectiveness of radio and news programming. Education Student Worker

This position will work with the Director of Education, K-12 and Early Childhood Education Specialists to support various classroom media projects, curriculum curation and development, education events, and accessibility updates. Attend in-person and online events, including performing in mascot costume as required. Organization, editing, conversion of education documents and media files, data entry, and other administrative support tasks as needed.

Skills Necessary

Community Engagement Student Worker

Nebraska Public Media is in search of a Community Engagement student worker for our Education department.
Part-time position for a student who is has excellent research and writing skills, compentent in Microsoft Office Suite, able to assist with organization of event materials and lift/move boxes of giveaways and other event items. Education or work experience in event planning, communications or marketing would be an asset.

Responsibilities include:
Assist with community engagement event and project planning under the direction of the Community Engagement Manager
Conduct data entry, including registration information, audience attendee data, and community partner lists

Contact community partners, organizations or vendors to confirm event details or obtain quotes
Assist with online chat moderation during virtual events

Broadcast Production Student Worker

Nebraska Public Media is looking for a student who will gain knowledge and experience in video production, Avid editing, remote sports broadcasts and television studio production. Create and edit short video segments for broadcast & digital distribution and develop skills in content storytelling and videography in the field of sports, human interest, history and the arts. Assist in the remote truck, EFP and studio. Assist producers with show preparation, research, scheduling, and field production. Share responsibility for cataloging and record keeping of digital media, archive footage and research materials. Assist in gathering information for short and long-form documentaries and other projects. On-air/voice talent potential is a plus, but not a requirement.
Student majoring in Broadcasting or related field. Experience in television production a plus. Must be highly organized and able to work on a variety of assigned projects. Must be willing to collaborate with a team of experienced content creators. 10-20 hours per week.

Director of Information Technology Services

A hands-on manager who will provide technological leadership to include research, planning and adopting emerging computing and communication technologies in support of Nebraska Public Media, a state-of-the-art telecommunications facility serving Nebraska.

Responsibilities include oversight of hardware, software and infrastructure; development and execution of policies, budget, and strategy; planning and implementation of IT projects; and contract management.

Manages team that is responsible for implementing and supporting various platforms including but not limited to Windows and Linux servers, LAN/WAN, VPN, TCP/IP, VMware and Hyper-V virtualization, Avid editing systems, broadcast and OTT distribution and storage related networking needs, Network Security, Remote and Cloud-based applications, backups and disaster recovery planning.
