Senior Director of Engineering

Provides advanced technical and operational leadership in support of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the administration of broadcast network systems. Oversees the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and performance of broadcast, transmission, and IP-based distribution systems, while supervising engineering staff and coordinating statewide network distribution services. This role is responsible for evaluating system performance, establishing technical standards, managing assigned budgets and projects, and ensuring compliance with FCC regulations. Serves as a key technical advisor and assumes full responsibility for network operations in the absence of the CTO.

This is professional work providing technical and advisory support to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for technical administration of broadcast network systems. The incumbent maintains responsibility for a variety of functions concerning broadcast, internet-based distribution and/or production equipment as well as supervising the personnel who direct the operation of such equipment; performs related work as required.

Labs Artist

Nebraska Public Media is looking for a versatile Labs Artist who is excited by game development, inspired by public media, and committed to nurturing community good through interactive digital experiences. This position will be a member of an R&D team developing the organization’s gaming and interactive initiatives and is responsible for the design and production of digital 3D immersive environments, 3D modeled/textured assets, photogrammetry-based models, 2D computer graphics, 2D and 3D animation, illustrations and photographs under the guidance of the Emerging Media 3D Artist. Game Editor

Nebraska Public Media’s Games Editor guides the creation, growth and success of Nebraska Public Media’s portfolio’s portfolio of daily and weekly games and puzzles. This role involves editing the work of others as well as creating original puzzles. Furthermore, this position is responsible for writing and editing stories and narratives for longer games and content, using a customized Twine and Harlowe system to script interactions along with the narration. Production Student Worker

Nebraska Public Media is looking for a student who will gain knowledge and experience in video production, Avid editing, remote sports broadcasts and television studio production. Create and edit short video segments for broadcast & digital distribution and develop skills in content storytelling and videography in the field of sports, human interest, history and the arts. Assist in the remote truck, EFP and studio. Assist producers with show preparation, research, scheduling, and field production. Share responsibility for cataloging and record keeping of digital media, archive footage and research materials. Assist in gathering information for short and long-form documentaries and other projects. On-air/voice talent potential is a plus, but not a requirement.

Qualifications:
• Student majoring in Broadcasting or related field. Experience in television production a plus.
• Must be highly organized and able to work on a variety of assigned projects.
• Must be willing to collaborate with a team of experienced content creators.
• 10-20 hours per week.
