UNL Suspends Fraternity at the Center of Ongoing Sexual Assault Investigation Through 2026

A University of Nebraska-Lincoln fraternity at the center of an ongoing sexual assault investigation has been suspended by the university through 2026. The school announced that the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity was found to have violated the UNL Student Code of Conduct and is no longer recognized by the university. Because the fraternity house on R Street near the Student Union is on private property and owned by the Phi Gamma Delta housing corporation, the school doesn’t have control over how it’s used during the suspension. Students will still be allowed to live in the house, but it won't be a UNL-sanctioned fraternity. A separate criminal investigation into an alleged sexual assault in the house in August is ongoing.
