At a press conference in Lincoln today, health department interim director Pat Lopez made the recommendation that fans be limited at the tournament, which starts tomorrow.

Jay Bellar is executive director of the Nebraska School Activities Association, which sponsors the tournament. He says the NSAA is continuing to work through logistics for the tournament.

"We are very saddened that it can't go on with all the fans there, but we do realize that this is the best thing to do," Bellar said. "So to tell you what it's gonna look like at this point... probably premature."

The tournament is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Thursday, and includes nearly 50 teams from across the state.
