Digital News Content Producer

The digital news content producer creates original news content and works with staff reporters and freelancers to deliver their content across digital platforms. The position will help grow the digital skills of newsroom staff to serve new and existing audiences and finding ways to broaden the reach of Nebraska Public Media News. The ideal candidate is a digitally savvy journalist who has a passion for storytelling, a strong understanding of digital media, and an understanding of how to best use strong visuals.

This collaborative journalist will serve our digital audience by producing, editing, and publishing content on various platforms including websites, e-newsletters, social media, and podcasts using common digital analytics tools to report out results and to make changes to improve reach and impact.

Reporting to the News Director, the position is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day online/digital presence of Nebraska Public Media News ensuring all digital content is optimized for search results, meets style-guide standards, and aligns with Nebraska Public Media editorial standards.

Nebraska Public Media is seeking a Digital Engagement & Fundraising Specialist who will be responsible for growing Nebraska Public Media’s digital engagement and fundraising efforts. This position will create online, digital, social media, email engagement and promotion of content and fundraising efforts for Nebraska’s PBS and NPR Stations. Using Nebraska Public Media’s donor management software, create reports and assess the success of digital fundraising efforts. Identify and develop paid and organic marketing and advertising campaigns through social media, digital, email, streaming and more. Produce messaging aligned with brand standards and timed strategically among other communication efforts. Using Google Analytics and digital reporting tools, evaluate performance and extract actionable insight about the success of digital engagement and fundraising efforts (ROI’s, KPI’s, Conversion). Communications Student Worker

Great opportunity for Advertising, PR and Journalism majors. The Communications Team at Nebraska Public Media, is seeking a student worker who would be responsible for completing special projects as assigned, providing assistance to the staff and general office work. This is a paid position through the University of Nebraska working for the local PBS and NPR affiliates. Applicants must be able to work year-round, 15-20 hours a week with flexible schedule during regular business hours. Position will start on or after May 13.

Employee may work on a variety of projects including, but not limited to, news releases, tracking media clips, coordination of graphics for advertising, promotion and other administrative duties as needed. Must have strong communication skills, creativity and ability to write and edit news releases using AP Style. Looking for an organized, self-starter who enjoys problem solving and building creative solutions. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. May represent us occasionally at public functions, along with other staff members.
